Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles: No co-headling tour this year

While there were high hopes for a Fleetwood Mac and Eagles tour this summer, it’s not going to happen.

That’s the word from Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles in a interview with Eagles Online Central.

“Well, erm, I just emailed our manager this morning and asked him that question – what we were doing during this summer and I didn’t specifically ask him that but he did, he told me about that and it appears that that is not happening. So all these big rumors are just simply rumors. I think that it was being pursued for a while, that was the reality, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen,” Schmit said.

While no Fleetwood Mac tickets are available, the Eagles are currently in the middle of a tour that will last through the end of June. They will be playing several shows with the Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban.

Fleetwood Mac, Eagles touring together?

Inside sources are feeding the rumor mill with the idea that Fleetwood Mac will be touring this summer with The Eagles.

The January 21, 2010, issue of Rolling Stone broke the news of the joint outing, noting that the tour will take the bands to stadiums and arenas this summer. If the rumors are true, then this will mark the first time these legendary musicians have performed together in more than 30 years.

The Eagles are on the road now in what could be called a round of “warm up” gigs, playing shows mainly on the West Coast. Check back for more news about the tour and the availability of Fleetwood Mac tickes.

Fleetwood Mac is Unleashed

The legendary group Fleetwood Mac is on the road for their first concert tour in five years. Though the first two months are already over, Fleetwood Mac is far from stopping.

From now until the end of the month, Fleetwood Mac will be playing at cities around the world, including Sacramento, Las Vegas and San Diego.

“We love our band and think the title of the tour ‘UNLEASHED’ perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together - especially in 2009. We’re so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone’s favorite songs and see our fans,” the band said.

Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits Tour

It’s hard to believe that Fleetwood Mac, the British rock band who formed in 1967, have had such a high turnover rate of band members despite the varying levels of success. From their formation in 1967 until 1974, no band members lasted longer than two years except the namesake drummer Mick Fleetwood.

The current members, Stevie Nicks (vocals), Lindsey Buckingham (guitar/vocals), John McVie (bass) and Mick Fleetwood (drums), have been together since 1998 and are currently in what they’ve dubbed their “Greatest Hits Tour.”

“This is the first time we’ve gone on the road without an album,” Mick Fleetwood said. “This is truly a new experience for Fleetwood Mac to go out and play songs that we believe and hope people are going to be familiar with and love.”
